  • Bill has taught English for 20 years, 5 in California and 15 in East Grand Rapids, MI. He has taught AP World History since the course began in 2001. A graduate of Amherst College, he earned his teaching certificate and M.Ed. from San Francisco State Univ. He was a member of the committee that wrote the World History and Geography standards for Michigan high schools. He is an editor for World History Connected, a contributing author of “Teaching World History in the 21st Century, 2nd Ed.,” and the author of several textbook ancillaries. He has served as a Reader, Table Leader, and Sample Selector of the AP World History exams since 2004. He has also presented at the AP Annual (National) Conference, as well as numerous AP Workshops and Summer Institutes. He currently serves on the Curriculum Development and Assessment Committee (CDAC) which is in charge of Redesigned AP World History course beginning in 2011-2012.
