Dr. Fred Butler, Adjunct Professor of Spanish at Stetson University, Deland, FL has spent fifty years in teaching, both at the high school level and college level for the University of Hawaii and the University of Granada, Spain in Almería (English chairperson). He has been a Reader of the AP Spanish Exam since 1991 and a Table Leader for five years. He has been a part of the advanced Table Leader group at the Reading wherein essay selection for training purposes is done. He also has conducted weeklong summer Institutes at Western Kentucky University, Nova Southeastern University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, The College of William and Mary, University of Alabama, and for the School District of Fairfax County, VA. He recently taught a two-day seminar in AP Spanish Language to West Virginia teachers in Morgantown. He has conducted pre and post- conference workshops at AP National Conventions. He is a certified and endorsed College Board AP Spanish Workshop Consultant and National Mentor Coach as well for AP Spanish Language teachers. He has many years of experience at teaching the course at the high school level and acting as Dept. Chair at Clearwater Central Catholic High School in Clearwater, FL.
