Eighteen years of experienced AP Psychology teaching has taught me much of what to convey to beginning teachers of AP Psychology. I have taught this course both as a traditional yearlong course as well as a semester block. As a College Board consultant for 11 years, I have been privileged to have conducted numerous one-day workshops as well as several one-week institutes throughout the southeast. With M.Ed. and Ed. S. degrees from Georgia State University, I have served as a Reader since 1997.

- Course Description: I welcome the opportunity to assist you in your preparation of becoming an AP Psychology instructor! Emphasis will consist of how to begin/ build a course along with easy-to-use class demonstrations being highlighted. Setting up a course, both for regular and block schedule: choosing main and supplemental textbooks, pacing, dealing with parents and administrators.
- Emphasis:
- Creating of a sample syllabus and sample units for the coming year
- Tackling multiple choice questions, both in terms of writing better ones and successfully answering the sorts of questions that appear on AP exams
- Writing and successfully answering AP level essay questions
- Analyzing past exams, including samples from the 2012 exam
- Planning for what to do after the exam is over
- Examining available support materials: textbooks, website options, supplementary texts, review books
- Discussing practical, classroom expectations and the preparation of materials and strategies that can be used on the first day of the new school year in August
