Lorie Moore, a native of Atlanta, was a middle and high school mathematics teacher in Fulton County for 21 years. She has a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Georgia State University, a Masters in Middle Grades Education and a Specialist in Leadership for learning, both from Kennesaw State University. In 2003, she achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics. After piloting Math Vertical Teams for the College Boards Southern Region in 1997, Lorie became a trainer in Vertical Teaming. She has been presenting at workshops, conferences, and summer institutes since 1998. The most recent summer institute work includes Pre-AP Math for both middle school and high school teachers in Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. Lories professional interests include graphing calculator, interactive white board technology, and teacher education.

- Course Description:
The Pre-AP Mathematics Course will emphasize inquiry based instruction in mathematics, multiple representations, conceptual understanding, technology, manipulatives, projects, and standards for mathematical practice. Participants learn vertical teaming strategies which middle and high school teachers can use to prepare students for the AP Calculus and AP Statistics curriculum. Additionally, CCGPS / CCS for mathematics will be emphasized.
