Phyllis has taught mathematics for 28 years at Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She has taught AP Calculus AB for 21 years and has served as both an AP reader and table leader for 12 years. As a consultant for the College Board, she teaches AP Calculus summer institutes, Pre-AP, Math Vertical Teams and Building Success in Mathematics workshops throughout the southern region. Currently, she serves on the SAT II Subject Test Development Committee in Mathematics.
